My BB has a very annoying problem. It is a constant, frequently recurring one.
When connected to internet, tethered via the BB modem, after every interval of time, without fail, the connection just dies. I can see that, from the dial up n/w symbol and a bandwidth monitoring prgm, the PC is sending and the server is responding - this goes on ok for a while and then, the PC sends but the server no longer responds. What could be the reason that the server decides to stop responding all of a sudden?
Now, this problem also goes away without fail if a hard reset is used (remove insert Battery). So obviously there is something getting reset.
-Could it be some setting in some BB networking SW that is getting reset?
-Or could it be that there is a buffer that being improperly managed, gets filled and this unavailability of space is noted to the server? Causing transmission to cease for a while and to resume after clearing of it upon hard reset?
This is if at all there is any info buffered into the BB. if it does not save anything but passes everything onto the PC right away I guess that wouldn't hold.
-What is buffer size?
-I have a lot of memory card space - is this ever used to store received network data?
-Could network clogging have anything at all to with this like maybe, cause the server to drop my BB
I could be wrong (music buffering to PC most if not all) but I have observed that sometimes streaming music will continue to play for a while after I have seen the server stoppage happen and other pages no longer load or new pages no longer openable.
Any BB tech rep or anyone with BB tethered modem / dial-up networking knowledge please help.
Anybody know a stopgap solution to a problem I am having please also let me know ? (other than what the soln I am using for now)(e.g. how to clear buffer or reset modem)
Apologies if this has already been asked, I couldn't find anything like it.
p.s.and sure enough it happened again when i was about to post this :-)

Had something to add:
These are sort of the MB cutoffs of downloaded data at which it seemed to quit, the 3 times it did in the past 1/2 -1 hr. (from the BW monitor tool) (this is info already passed on thru to PC from BB).
quit at 40.69MB, then reset
quit at 52.99MB, then reset
quit at 62.95MB

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Below are the procedures I have on tethered modems.
Check through them and I will check the knowledgbase for your specific problem.

Most have to do with dropping connections:

Not sure if I need to be registered on the tech support site but all links take me to the same instruction page on setting up tethering. Will try registering.
