Contacts Search Results

Long time reader, first time poster.

I've finally convinced one of my senior users to release his hold on his Blackberry 8700, quite an achievement.

He's getting to grips with a new 9900 and has raised a very good question:

When searching in contacts on the 8700 the search results are arranged alphabetically, this is not the case on the 9900. Perplexed I checked several other devices and found the same on my own 9780 and a few 8520s.

Worse yet I found that the 8700 quite sensibly does display search results alphabetically.

Anyone know why the results appear to be sorted at random or if it can be changed?

Thanks in advance!
