Contacts didn't transfer back after update

So I updated to 4.7.0.103 and everything was fine except that I had to reload my email address and none of contacts came back. I don't know what happened?!?

I did say to backup the device on the computer before I did the update...does anyone know where Back-up files for contact lists are usually stored on Window's computers? I have a Mac and was using a friends...I wouldn't have done anything other than the default.

Re: Contacts didn't transfer back after update

Hi and welcome to the forums!

You are looking for an .ipd file.

Usually placed in the My Documents folder of the logged on user.

Thanks,

Re: Contacts didn't transfer back after update

When I reconnect my Blackberry will it sync automatically or will I need to do something? Can I just drag it onto the phone?

Hi,

If you still have the desktop software loaded, then you will the backup/restore function.

the DM reads the backup and you pick what to restore. See page 9 for the information

Do you know how to restore from this back up on a Mac?

Re: Contacts didn't transfer back after update

Hi,

I don't even think it's possible.

Your best bet is to copy the .ipd to a flash drive and borrow a friends or a work Windows PC.

I'm not MAC knowledgeable, I am suggesting the Windows machine, as it is a proven method,

and we want to get your contacts back as soon as possible.

Do you need the links to download the DM and manual?

Just let us know.

Thanks,

Hi,

Just remembered that "Parallels can run Windows on MAC.

We have a Blackberry's for MAC forum on this site. I think you

would benefit from participating.

Thanks,
