To access the Content Protection option on BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry Device Software 5.0, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options.
  2. In the Options menu, navigate to Security Options.
  3. In Security Options, choose Encryption.
  4. Change the Encryption mode Enabled or Disabled.
  5. Press the Menu key and click Save.

Re: Content Protection on Blackberry curve 8520

In order to turn off encryption or content protection, you don't need to be connected to your laptop.

So, I do not know what you're needing to do.

Re: Content Protection on Blackberry curve 8520

Download it from AppWorld directly onto your device, you don't need to connect to the laptop.
