Copying data from Bold 9900 with no SIM card

I got a replacement Bold 9900 when my previous one developed hardware issues.  I transferred the SIM card to the new phone which is now operational.  I also did a backup restore which retrieved my Contacts, WiFi and other data but not pictures and files.  So, I tried to connect to my old device with a USB cable; this prompts me to sign-in which does not work I think because the SIM card is not there(?)

Is it possible that I connect to my old phone as a USB device when it does not have a SIM card?

Hello and Welcome to Community!
I tried that a minute ago and it didn't ask me to sigh in. Why don't you try to sigh in, I think that when the device can't reach the servers will let you in.
