Copying the whole contact list to PC

Hi everyone. I was wondering if I can copy my contact list from my BB to PC as a back up. Many thanks in advance.

Re: Copying the whole contact list to PC

You can backup your entire phone to your PC with desktop manager.

If on BES you might not be able to.

Re: Copying the whole contact list to PC

You can use Desktop Manager to Backup.

Or you can sync your contacts to Outlook, Outlook Express and other PIM apps... to view them on the PC.

Re: Copying the whole contact list to PC

Hi. I did the backup but when I go back to my files to see it, there is a message saying that the file is not a recognized application. I even tried to open it with WINZIP but all I can see, there was a huge file of random letters and signs. Please tell me how I can see my BB backup.

Many thanks

Re: Copying the whole contact list to PC

Correct, the backup IPD file is not natively viewable or usable with out more work.

You'll need a PC application such as ABC Amber Converter to extract the contacts to whatever database you intend to use them in .

This is why I also recommended syncing your BlackBerry contacts to either Outlook or Outlook Express.

What did you sync to?

To "sync" there must be something on the other end to which you are syncing... i.e., as in my mentioning Outlook and Outlook Express.

There is no default file of desktop manager.

You will need to explain in detail to us so that we know what you have done.

Re: Copying the whole contact list to PC

I found out that the contact list has been copied to my yahoo list. Please tell me how I can copy it to a new folder on my PC or to the Microsoft Outlook.
