Coverage voice alert

My blackberry announces very loudly when I have entered a cell phone coverage area..."You now have cell phone coverage", even when it is on vibrate or quiet. This seems to happen at the most inopportune times and I don't know how to get it to stop. I have gone through every menu to figure out how to disable certain alerts, but this is one that I cannot find. Please help if you have had this problem as well.

Re: Coverage voice alert

Who is your carrier and where are you located?

Are you running TeleNav GPS or ATT Navigator?

Re: Coverage voice alert

To get rid of the issue turn OFF wireless coverage notification. To do so perform the below steps -

1. In the device options, click Screen/Keyboard.
2. Set the LED Coverage Indicator field to OFF.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Click Save.

When your BlackBerry device is connected to the wireless network, the LED light flashes green.

To turn ON wireless coverage notification again, set the LED Coverage Indicator field to On.

Re: Coverage voice alert

Changing the LED network status does not stop the cell coverage alert on the Bold 9000, with AT&T.  Any further suggestions.

Re: Coverage voice alert

You need to change the audio setting in the AT&T Navigatora application, not the device setting. I belive you find this in Preferences. I hope that helps
