I want to be able to charge my BB from a 5v USB lead and at the moment I'm getting the cannot charge message. It will charge from a Kindle USB mains charger, 850ma output, and the Kindle will charge from the 5v USB lead. The 5v USB has a current output of 2A, which should be fine. Any ideas out there?
Thank you but I am on a boat and have a 24v supply unless I run an inverter. I am not aware of a BB charger that runs off 24v. There is no reason why a BB cannot charge off a 5v USB supply - unless RIM want to make it technically difficult. My Nokia phone and Kindle charge quite happily. Perhaps if RIM was more consumer friendly, the share price would not be drooping so alarmingly!
