Curve 9300 encryption issues with *.rem files

Hi All,

I encrypted my phone using password. Also encrypted Media card  with Media files included.

Now i wish to save pics present on my media card but all are with *.jpg.rem extension. I tried to disable encryption but the *.jpg.rem still remains.

My device is working fine and i have my password (thank God for tht).

All post i have seen so far r of guys who have changed phones or dont remember password.

I dont have option of emailing pics to me as the files I need total 167MB.

I am using BB Curve 9930

Please help guys....

Thnx

Hi rahul,

Welcome to the Community,

All you need to do is First turn off your Encryption from your device as well as media card Go to Options > Security >

disable Encryption  and password.then connect your device to a computer using Desktop manager  from where you can transfer your pictures.

Good Luck

Prince

Re: Curve 9300 encryption issues with *.rem files

Thnx Prince for your reply.

I have already tried that but the software shows only the files that i have taken after removing encryption and the password.

I tried connecting the phone to the BB Desktop software and then searching in Files. But still the same. I read somewhere that i can do this if i make of copy of the folder in another locaiton. Well did that as well but no good.

Hope you can help.

Thnx

Re: Curve 9300 encryption issues with *.rem files

Ok Got it myself....

Following things were done by me:

1) Options-> Memory-> Compression disabled.

2) Options-> Memory-> Mass Storage Mode Support=OFF

3) Options-> Memory-> Security--> Encryption --> Media Care=Enabled

4) Options-> Memory-> Security--> Encryption --> Include Media files=NO

I let the encryption ON. All like before.

Then connected phone to laptop. Input password on phone and in BBDesktop software.

Presto.....

Im able to transfer all pictures and videos unenctrypted with *.rem to my HDD.

Hope this helps other ppl facing this problem.
