Curve 9300 won't turn on! Please help!

Hi Blackberry Community,

A couple days ago my blackberry curve's battery died while I was on a bus. By the time I got back to a charger I noticed that it wouldn't turn on and when I plugged it into the wall, it wouldn't charge or indicate with the LED light that it was charging. I decided to pull out my battery and put it back in, and there was no results. I did the same thing but this time I plugged it into the computer, my curve was still inresponsive. I also left it plugged into a wall unit for +3 hours, when I came back, it still wasn't working.

TL;DR (too long; didn't read): My Curve won't turn on, the screen is completley black and the LED light doesn't flash or even turn on. How can I fix it.

Re: Curve 9300 won't turn on! Please help!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):

  1. With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
  2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
  3. Remove the battery
  4. Wait 15 minutes
  5. Insert the battery
  6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does

This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.

It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:

  1. Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
  2. Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens

The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.

Good luck and let us know!

An incredibly sparse reply to a sequence of steps to follow, indeed two separate tests to conduct. Hence, with that reply, I cannot know what to advise you. You said earlier that your battery was the culprit...if that is true, then the 2nd test would have confirmed that suspicion. But, with your sparse reply, I cannot know anything adequate about your test results, and therefore cannot advise you further.

More details from you will allow for better guidance.

Good luck and let us know!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

"New" and "known good" are not necessarily the same thing...while rare, a new battery can be defective. The most reliable way to run that test is to find someone with an identical device...trade batteries and see what happens on BOTH devices.
