Curve trackball automatically clicking

Ok so here's the deal. A few weeks ago I pulled my Blackberry Curve 8300 from my pocket after a normal days use and I noticed that the trackball was starting to automatically click things without me touching it and also the keyboard wasn't working properly at times. Almost every time I click something with the trackball, it seems to click twice consecutively. I figured it was an issue regarding the trackball so I ordered a new one. This one didn't solve the problem. I've tried all sorts of things and can't find a solution so any advice would be very helpful. Thanks.

Re: Curve trackball automatically clicking

Sounds like moisture damage if the keyboard is also doing odd things.

And moist doesn't mean soaked. I have come to see the keyboards are quite sensitive to simple moisture, even from being left in a bathroom during a steamy shower.

Pockets honestly aren't the best places for BlackBerrys.

Re: Curve trackball automatically clicking

Ok well if that is the issue, then is it possible to get a replacement? I mean, the problem is that I bought the phone a few months ago from a friend, so I dont understand the warranty issue and everything revolved around that. So what should I do? I just need to fix this trackball-- its driving me crazy!

If it will fix it, you can buy a replacement trackball and the ball housing from

Nope I've already ordered two new trackballs and that has not solved anything.

He/she is not a real friend.
Apart from that, if it's a moisture issue you can try and do this :
1) remove the battery
2) put your Blackberry in some dry rice for a day or two

tell us if things get better.
