Curve will not turn on

Hi I need some help!

My backberry today just went to a white screen, I took the battery out and now I get to the loading screen and everytime the bar gets close to the end it just turns off. The battery wasn't near dead, but I tried charging it. The red light will stay on for a few minutes and then just turns off.

Is there something else I should try?

Thanks!!!

Hello melly221and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Does your BlackBerry display an error message or does the screen remain black and the red LED blink randomly?

Hello Chloe1981,

This sounds like your software needs to be reinstalled. Did you notice anything unusual before this started?

What you will need to do is download and install the BlackBerry Desktop Software to reinstall your BlackBerry device software.

After the software is downloaded and installed, remove your battery from your BlackBerry and connect it to your computer. You will get an error that says the Desktop Software is unable to communicate with the device and give you 3 options - you will want to select Update. If you get a box that says no updates available, you should see a box that says "Show other versions". Select the most current version and once you start the loading process, reinsert your battery.

The reload may take longer than expected. If you are using a laptop ensure you are connected a power source.

If you are unable to get the reload to complete, contact your mobile network carrier for further investigation.

Let me know how you make out.

Re: Curve will not turn on

I actually just kept my phone to charge for about 2 hours and it seemed to work. it had died when I still had some battery left in though. I've since replaced my battery and it is working perfectly again!

Thanks for the replies!!

Re: Curve will not turn on

Thanks for the quick reply hmthepirate!

Well, something unusual did happen before this started.. my screen suddenly went white so I took out the battery etc, turned it back on everything was working fine.

A few hours later I noticed my phone was off and wouldn't turn back on. I'm downloading the desktop software now and I'll follow the different steps. I'll let you know how it goes!!

Hello RoisinR,

Do you have a red LED flashing or does the start up bar not reach then end?
