Okay so I downloaded the Device Manager to my computer and everything seems like it's working right. Then when I go through everything to update my BB and click the finish button the DM just closes out like someone hit the "RED X" WTF

Try just using just the Application Loader program to update/reload your software. So after connecting you device to your computer, navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader and double click on the loader.exe file. That will open the same wizard where you can update the OS and add/remove applications.
What version of the Desktop Manager are you running? If it's not 5.0 I'd recommend performing a clean uninstall of your version by following the steps here: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320
Then try downloading and installing version 5.0 from here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code

Hey, thanks for the info. I'm not sure how to do a clean install due to the fact that I have Vista 32 as a operating system. There's not option to access the start/run like on XP from the start menu. However the 5.0 that I downloaded froze my computer completely. I had to run the factory disc on my home computer. So I will start over some time soon. Unless anyone has any other ideas?

Sorry I gave you the wrong link before. Here's the correct one to perform a clean uninstall
You can try hitting the Start button and just directly typing "regedit"
If you're interested in getting the Run choice you can follow these steps.
