Data Recovery

My BB Curve 8320 seems to have suffered some sort of malfunction, it is now totally dead. i need to know if here is any way of recovering the data of contact books and sms as, i had committed the carnal sin of failing to back up. Is there anyone whoc can advise if data recovery is possible in this scenario. I was told that the integrated circuit could be damaged so I am not sure how to power the unit up and if i do repair it, will my data be lost forever? Appreciate any input from members with any similar problem/experience. Thank you

Re: Data Recovery

Usually is resetting the device (removing battery for 30 seconds to a minute) won't work you'll have to relaod the OS on the phone. Try the first method below first. If the device can still be detected when it's connected to the computer there's a small chance that you'll be able to choose the option to backup the data when going through the Application Loader wizard. That's assumming the data hasn't already been lost.

So if you already have the Desktop Manager installed, download the handheld software from here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp .

If the first method doesn't work then usually using Jl Cmder will, but that will wipe the device.
