Dead 9900

BB 9900 was one with 60% battery life and just went off. No red light, not recorgnised by desktop software. Gets hot when put to charge but doesn't power up. Repair shops says need a new board. 

Any solutions?

1. Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, and CONNECTED to the wall outlet charger, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.

2. If it doesn't power up, see below.

 


 


1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.

2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):

"c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm

3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Congrats! Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.

Just select the appropriate device model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

IF the above does not work or help, You will need to use JL_Cmder to wipe the device and subsequently load the OS to the device. Follow the instructions here:

or download BBSAK http://bbsak.org/download.php

If JL_Cmder does not work, you can try this:

I bought two BB9900 and both of them dead. Same type fail. No connect to desktop software, no red light. I sent them to service for to repair in warranty period. Service sad "you must pay repair cost, because the main boards are damaged". Yes, thats right. Damaged. But when i check forums about BB9900 so many people has same problem. It means, it's production problem. Why am i pay repair cost?

I bought all models are BB (9000, 9700,9780,9900 and now Z10). But after now, i never buy BB series. I totaly change mobile phone type in my company.

I thing, RIM wants to get from us their lost.

It's imposible. They found a easy way. The answer is" sorry, you droped the mobile phone than mainboar was broken. If we change it, RIM will be charge the cost us. You have to pay repair cost". 

It is not fair. If only I had only one mobile phone problem the answer can be reasenable. But many BB9900 owner h ave same problem. RIM must be honest and send to letter all worldwide service about problem and solution method. Or, they will have extra worst image too.
