Dead phone!!!

last night my bold decided to die! the screen looks as though it has had a blow or been dropped or something and is like an abstract painting!!! but nothing was done to the phone.  have taken battery out, and replaced etc but nothing has changed - is there anything I can do, ie reinstall everything? I am completely lost without it Smiley Sad

Re: Dead phone!!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

When you remove and replace the battery, does it go through the normal loading screen before this strange screen appears? If so, then I recommend Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

Perhaps some app you have is causing this (a theme perhaps?) and Safe Mode will allow you to remove it.

Good luck!

Re: Dead phone!!!

thanks for the reply but the problem appears to be that the screen is distorted somehow, as tho some damage has been done to the screen, and i cannot alter this in anyway, even after removal and replacement of the battery.

Re: Dead phone!!!

In which case the BB itself would most likely be at fault (defective or otherwise). If you remain in your warranty period, you should seek formal warranty evaluation and support, which you seek from your original place of purchase.

Good luck!
