Desktop App update issue

Attempted to download a theme this day and was prompted to install a browser plug-in.  During the attempt the process was halted because of the existing version.  Launched the desktop app to seek out the current plug-in and it could not be found.  I write ti inquire how I can find and uninstall the current version so that the most current version can install. Much thanks for any support in this regard
