Desktop Manager 4.7 / BB Storm / Reconcile Email Greyed Out

I have a new Storm (UK), and the reconcile email button in Desktop Manager is greyed out. Vodafone technical support are saying that this option is available on BES only, when the BlackBerry site clearly shows this is available with BIS & BES. Can anyone help?

-Make sure that the BB is attached to the USB cable and to the computer.
-If you are using a laptop, make sure it isn't in a docking station.
     Take the laptop out of the docking station.
     Make sure your Outlook is still up and online.

-Complete a hard reset while the BB is still connected to the computer.
     Leave the BB connected to the computer and keep desktop manager open.
     Remove the battery from the BB while it is connected.
     Re-insert the battery.

Thanks for your suggestion.  Followed to the letter, but no joy; reconcile email still greyed out!

I just realized that your trying to reconcile emails from Outlook. Vodafone was correct. That is not possible. I was thinking you were trying reconcile your address book. My apologies. Please see this link:

Email reconciliation is available only for :

  • BES users (if the BES admin has activated the feature). Mainly Microsoft Outlook & Lotus Notes
  • BIS users if they connect to their email by IMAP4 (and if the IMAP4 admin has activated the feature). As far as I know it's only available for Google Mail and Yahoo! Mail (and partial support from Microsoft Live).
