Desktop Manager Takes up to 15 minutes to load

I'm running 6.2010 and, if I click on the icon to start the software, it may take 30 seconds to show a splash screen and up to 15 minutes to load.

Sometimes it takes longer in which case I'll go into Task Manager, stop all BB and RIM processes and try again. Then it will take up to 15 minutes.

Once running, the software works perfectly.

OS is Win7Pro. There are no other applications running which are taking lots of processor time.

Any advice on how I can get it to load at normal speed.

 Thanks

Re: Desktop Manager Takes up to 15 minutes to load

Hey RobFJ,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Did you have a previous version of Desktop Software installed prior to this version?

Yes, the laptop is a couple of years old so will have run the latest version at the time of DTM.

Re: Desktop Manager Takes up to 15 minutes to load

Hey RobFJ,

Thanks for the quick reply.

The reason why I asked if you had any previous versions of Desktop Software on there is that there could be old files still lingering there.

I would suggest performing all the steps in this KB article: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02206

Once completed, then proceed to download BlackBerry Desktop Software from www.blackberry.com/desktop and restart the computer.
