Desktop Software 7.1 ...Cannot install WIN 8...

I have rrecently purcashed Q10 SQN 100-3. I have downloaded Desktop Software 7.1 but cannot install it.

Error message is as follows:

"""Error 1723...There is a problem with this Window Installer pakage. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or pakage vendor.

Action : Repair RIM Usb Driver NT. 07D231B6-7904-4970-8822-BF..."""

Please suggest action..Thanks and Regards...

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

There are several issues here...

1) You have a Q10, but posted in the legacy BBWorld section of this site...

2) You have a Q10, and are trying to use the legacy Desktop Software, which is not compatible (LINK is used for BB10 devices)

Between these, the error message you are receiving may well be totally irrelevant.

Thanks...I am trying to install  LINK ( Desktop Software 7.1 ) on my WIN8 desktop...The LINK ( Desktop Software 7.1 ) is installed smoothly on my WIN7 ...The ERROR is for installing LINK ( Desktop Software 7.1 ) on my WIN8 ..Any solution?..Regards..

Still, a conflict...LINK <> Desktop Software 7.1. It is one or the other, not both.

Dear sdgardne, The app BlackBerry Link v.1.1.1.32 (windows OS) is duly installed on my OS WIN8 desktop PC. There is no issue now.
