Re: Desktop Software Installation Error

I have completed all the steps, removing everything I could find in the registry, etc. Now DM seems to install.  However, when I load it, Windows Installer flashes up and then disappears constantly, and my device won't connect.  The installer flashes on and off until I close DM.  It almost seems like the problem hasn't gone away, but Windows Installer doesn't wait for an input, cancels itself, then prompts again...

Xandrex,

Thanks for your help, but unfortunately I haven't had much luck.  I used 7Zip to extract the installation files into a folder on my desktop and when I install the software it seems to work.  But then after I reboot, and try to execute the Desktop Software, it appears as though it is trying to complete the install, and windows installer loads and searches again for the same .msi file.   If I hit cancel many times, it looks like the software loads, but then the same issue appears when I plug-in my BB.  What am I missing?

Thanks.

You must launch the installer not from the BlackBerry Desktop Software.msi but from the file named BlackBerrySetup.exe
