Desktop Software Windows 8.1

The Blackberry Desktop software will not load in Windows 8.1 the error message is


"This app can't run on your PC

To find a version for your PC check with the software publisher"

I've seen multiple posts from folks on Windows 8.1 having various issues. My suspicion is compatibility...refer:

As you can see, it states Windows 8, but not 8.1. Hence, my suspicion is that the current versions of the Desktop Software are not compatible with 8.1, and hence cannot be expected to provide proper functionality.

This issue has now been resolved after receiving a Windows update yesterday I attempted to reload the desktop software and everything is now fully functional
