Desktop Software for Blackberry Torch 9800

I recently bought a Blackberry Torch 9800 and trying to load the Desktop Software from the CD that came with the phone. Alas the only use of this CD is to tell me to go on the Web and download the software. I live in an area where the internet connections are soooo slow so this really pissed me off.  Anyways, I tried so many times to download the software, its sitting in my downloads file with a .exe.part, at the end of the file, but when I try to run it, it can't.  It says the file is downloaded in parts...whatever that means.  I checked my system requirements before I downloaded and yes my computer meets all the requirements so....????? Can anybody help?


I also have a mac computer with all the system requirements, but it still won't install.........in all ma life, downloading and installing ......only happens to Blackberry!!!!!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!


From what you describe, your internet connection is the culprit. Until the download completes (all parts, not just some of the parts as you have now), you cannot run the exe file and install the software. I find it a little odd that the CD forces a download, but the carriers actually are responsible for that distribution when they sell to their end users. In any event, internet connectivity is important so that updates and such can be accomplished as they are released.


Just to be sure, are you downloading from here?

From there, you can get either the PC or MAC version of the Desktop Software.
