Desktop Software install stops installing

Hi all

 

I am trying to install the Desktop Software 4.7.0 release for my 8820, and the installations simply stops doing anything. Using Process Explorer I count:

6 instances of msiexec.exe (one of which is the MSI service)

2 instances of _setup.exe

1 instance of BlackBerrySetup.exe

 

All of which are doing nothing. The install window is responsive, so I can click cancel, but the processes are doing absolutely nothing, as in no CPU activity at all. Helpfully, the install window says "Status:", but unhelpfully has nothing after that. Clicking Cancel incidentally does nothing.

 

I've cancelled, killed, downgraded, deleted reg keys, restarted, and still I get to the same point.

 

An error is present in the log: Failed to grab execution mutex. System error 258

When I click cancel, I get: CancelSetup. Dialog created

 

I'm only trying to upgrade since DM hangs when I try to sync with my 8820, now this?

 

Any help appreciated
