Desktop Software problems...

Hey. I currently have DS 4.2.2, and for some strange reason it can nolonger connect my BB to it. It keeps  giving me an error message and says that it needs to shut down. Should I re-install it, or should I just upgrade my software all together???

Please help.....thanks

Re: Desktop Software problems...

Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.

Question-- is your USB cable connected to one of the PC's main rear USB ports? Make certain it is--not a USB hub, nor a monitor USB port nor a USB port on the front of the PC.

Try again.

Also, you can upgrade to a more recent version of Desktop Manager, I would recommend version 4.6 withOUT the media software.

Good luck.

ok, I'm going to try that, thank you very much. But one more question...any reason NOT to download the media manager for 4.6?

Re: Desktop Software problems...

4.6 and 4.5 are slower than previous versions of the Desktop Manager. Some old Outlook versions are not supported anymore in 4.5/4.6.
