Desktop connection

I have an Blackberry Curve 8530 which I sync to my desktop calendar.  I got a new desktop, and downloaded the Desktop Manager software.  The first time I used everything worked fine.  However, the software now does not recognize when the phone is connected.  Instead, a Windows File Manager window opens to let me view the media card. 

 

the new computer has a Windows 8 operating system.

 

Any thoughts on this?

Hi Mongan,

 

You may have the option to automatically enable Mass Storage Mode when connected to your computer. Try disabling this by going into Options>Storage from your BlackBerry smartphone.
