Desktop folder versus Messages folder, what is the differences?

I am a new BlackBerry user.  I am using Outlook for my corporate email with BlackBerry Enterprise server.  On my display I have the folders Desktop and Messages.  I cannot determine what the difference is between these two folders.  Can anyone tell me?

Well the Messages folder receives ALL messages from ANY email accounts, SMS, MMS, and PIN messages. The Desktop will only receive emails from your corporate (BES) account. If you have any other integrated email accounts they will also have their own icon to only see emails from those accounts.

Hope that makes sense   Smiley Happy
