How to remove the generic Bluetooth stack for your PC and install the correct Divers:
The first link above provided the instructions... when I tried to "save" the changes recommended to the "%windir%\inf\bth.inf" file I got an error message saying, "Cannot create the C:\Windows\inf\bth.inf\file Make sure that the path and file name are correct." So I was suck there.
I can Bluetooth though... even with Vista telling me the device won't work without the proper drivers.

or you don't have enough privileges to write that file.
Vista and their "privileges" are a never ending problem... really, whenever I can't get software to run correctly - that has something to do with it. I am the adminstrator on my computer - there is only one account, an administrator account... who is - me! If I want to pursue the answer I can post over in that thread the problem (error message) I am having...
Thanks for responding...

have you the link for the Vista users group from Microsoft?
It's pretty helpful.

Yes, and it has been helpful but one must exercise "caution" there as lunatics disguise themselves as tech know-it-alls whose advice can lead you deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole. If you are cautious though, you can walk away with proven answers that work!
Thanks for the Vista link shout out!

No this one is the no user knowledgebase. I thought I had the other.
They'll pry XP out of my cold dead fingers, but that's where I learn about Vista.
Have a good night!
