Device error 407! HELP ASAP!!!!!

hello, when the blackberry bold turns on it comes up with a white screen and a tiny box saying device error 407!

It computer, but is recognised as blackberry bold (FFFFFFFF), with its pin being FFFFFFFF!

Desktop manager then comes up with the box 'cannot connect to blackberry device", which gives me the option to cancel,update or retry. when i click update, it goes back onto the summary page, then comes up with the message "there is no avaliable software for you blackberry device"

 

Anyone have any ideas?

Couple questions:

Where did this Blackberry come from?

Has this BlackBerry worked correctly for you in the past?

 

From all that I know, when the device renders PIN FFFFFFFF, it indicates an irreparable hardware issue.

I've never seen a fix for it

bought the phone of a friend as i am usally able to fix blackberry errors.

and yes it worked for him as far as i know!

any ideas?

Are you certain it did?

 

As I said, I've never seen the error to recoverable. I've checked with a couple of other knowledgeable users too.
