Did someone hack into my phone???

I was wondering if anyone could tell me about potential hackers. Last night I received an odd looking text (phone notified me via vibration but usually by sound- weird) that looked something like this:

                                        ------ NANO-----------

                                 -----------NANO-------------------

                                                                (arabic print)

After looking at the message (did not open it) for 10 seconds debating on whether I should open it, it disappeared suddenly.

As you can imagine, I am rather concerned because of the content on my phone and what it is linked to. Is it possible that someone accessed my phone? It is password protected but that is my online line of defense.

Thanks for reading and I appreciate any responses.

Re: Did someone hack into my phone???

As of this years CANSECWEST security conferece, there has been no hacks for the BlackBerry devices. Not sure what that message was, but I would say no, it is not a hack.

Re: Did someone hack into my phone???

I doubt it was hacked by a text. BlackBerry has the most secure system of all devices out there.

Re: Did someone hack into my phone???

My blackberry has been hacked and I no longer complain.   No one has ever had access to it to nor my sims card.  I do not use bluetooth, just facebook.  I've closed out fb accounts, reloaded a new facebook accounts, and the person plays around, letting me know they are there.   T-mobile has seen it, and RIM avoids it like the plague.   I can actually see the persons profile picture, that hacked into my phone when I log into Facebook.  Again....same phone, different facebook page.  It's the phone.  I simply roll my eyes when I hear blackberry is secure.  Don't let anyone tell you that it is, because I've got proof that it isn't.  Good luck.

What LOL @beaugh what are you talking about??? If anything your FB account has been hacked, not your phone!! Why would a profile pic be displayed, you would have to be a pretty stupid hacker!!

Re: Did someone hack into my phone???

Maybe you should read the post again.  I deleted that facebook page.  It's a new facebook page.  I've changed emails, passwords....everything.  The one remaining constant....is this phone.  Tmobile has seen that gawd awful picture that the hacker (into my blackberry) uses, how he can move the picture around covering my favorites, my own profile picture, and even my friends.  Pretty amazing program he has.  No one has an answer to this problem, and I don't have a problem with being the 1 person that can say....Blackberry is not secure.

Re: Did someone hack into my phone???

It's ok to laugh....but I'm the one holding the phone that has Tmobile and RIM confused.  This has been thru an analyst team at RIM, so whatever answers you can suggest should be towards "what kind of program can hack into a blackberry?"   Till then, there's nothing I can say except....it isn't secure.

Re: Did someone hack into my phone???

If Tmobile agree your phone has been hacked will they not offer you a new one? Is it possible that your computer has a virus that has transferred to your device when you have synced them both? Try a full factory reset & security wipe on the phone & start again as you are sure it is the phone. What happens if you don't reload fb onto your device? Sorry I still find it hard to believe your BB has been hacked, but if it has then I hope you get it sorted, I know how much info can be stored on the device. I would do a back up asap incase the whole thing shuts down.

Re: Did someone hack into my phone???

I've never asked for a new phone.  Tmobile blames RIM, which blamed facebook, which blames someone else....and so on.  I only want to know how it happened....how the heck did someone do that?    The phone isn't backed up on my computer.  No reason to.   Now....did I receive a virus by opening a link on my phone?  That's an excellent question, it's possible.  But....people I've text with on delicate matters have received "private" incoming calls shortly after the txt ended, so we gather my txt are not "private" either.   It doesn't bother me any more.   The true issue is, how do I prevent something in the future, if I don't know how it happened the 1st time?   This hacker let me know he was there, how many hackers don't let you know they are there?  Strange in deed.  Thanks for the suggestions.
