Disable radio in bedside mode

I would just like to know exactly what is meant by radio on the blackberry (i.e. disable radio option for bedside mode - what exactly am I enabling or disabling?)

Re: Disable radio in bedside mode

From the manual...

To turn off the connection to the wireless network, so that your device does not receive phone calls or messages when bedside clock mode is turned on, change the Disable Radio field to Yes.

So it means turn off the wireless data/phone connection to GPRS/3G etc.  It probably includes WiFi and Bluetooth too.

It may just be easier to put the phone in the quiet mode, and you will have all messages and data service

without being awoken during the night, and you don't have to remember to turn on the radio again.
