My Blackberry 8700 was hooked up to my work's Enterprise Server and syncing wirelessly. I've left that job and gone back to school so now I am trying to adapt the Blackberry for personal use. I want to use the Desktop Manager to sync the Blackberry to my laptop. When I try hook the Blackberry up to my laptop through a USP port (the Blackberry is being detected) I get an error message saying that "Synchronization is unavailable for: Calendar because the application(s) is (are) configured for wireless synchronization. Desktop synchronization for the above application(s) will be disabled. I went into my handheld and went into Reconcile Options in Messages and set Wireless Synchronization to "No." However, I still get the same error. Any help?
Here are some details:
Vista Home - 32 bit
Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2
Microsoft Outlook 2007

Go to Options >Advanced Options >Service Books
Delete all service books labled [Desktop]
Reboot the device by removing the battery.
Now you should be able to sync via DM.

similar topic though different spin on the question. Ideally I would like to run both the wireless sync for work and either 1) a WIRELESS sync with a personal calendar (yahoo, google, etc) or 2) a WIRED sync with a personal calendar. I seem to recall that RIM wouldn't allow either of these options historically, but I'm curious of there have been any solutions discovered lately. Frankly, I'm even open to running a 3rd party software (SyncML, other) if that solves the problem. Has anyone found anything that works?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! After 2 YEARS after leaving my job, I wasn't able to sync my phone to my computer. You're a life saver! Now I can switch from BB and T-Mobile to an iPhone and ATT! Can't wait!

Hi there !
I have a BB 9900 and I am struggling to sync to my outlook via DM
my company is on BES light and has set up a policy that has disabled all wireless syncs on my bb
however, DM it will sync via USB my contacts, tasks and notes but it will say "wireless sync" for the calendar and neither I or my IT dept has been able to figure out how to disable the wireless sync
i tried to find the proper item to disable it on my BB but nowhere it gives me this opportunity
i tried the service books cancellation but it won't change anything
i am going crazy !
