Re: Downloaded BB Bridge to my 9780 but cannot find the icon anywhere!

ON your BlackBerry, you should a downloads Tab, and maybe a folder. Look in both of those.

Search the universal search at the top of homescreen again.

Do you have a BlackBerry BIS data plan on your O2 account... what's needed for regular email, BBMessenger etc.?

Re: Downloaded BB Bridge to my 9780 but cannot find the icon anywhere!

I looked in the downloads folder and on the menu downloads tab, both had the same icons in there, but Bridge wasn't in either of them.

Yes I have a data plan for my Blackberry, it's on O2 with 500 mb a month

Re: Downloaded BB Bridge to my 9780 but cannot find the icon anywhere!

This is strange.

Can you reboot, Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.

Just pulled the battery and left it out for a few minutes before replacing it but that hasn't worked either :-( still no sign of the bridge icon. It's still listed under Device > Applications but no where else

Ok, you need to call O2 tech support. Ask them to escalate this issue to RIM's tier two level tech support.

Re: Downloaded BB Bridge to my 9780 but cannot find the icon anywhere!

Hi JSanders,

Thanks for your help, the guys at O2 were baffled and weren't sure what was wrong, but I managed to solve the problem myself! In the applications folder, there was a rogue application near the bottom of my application list (it's sorted in alphabetical order) with no logo (just an empty app box logo) and lots of random letters and numbers starting UK_xxxxxxx_Bbm_followed by lots of random other letters and numbers. I didn't have a clue what it was but it said it was version 2.2.33 so still don't know what it is. Anyway, I deleted this application and the phone automatically rebooted. After it did this, I reinstalled Bridge again and the app showed up in my main menu! Didn't even have to reboot it, I opened it and got it paired to my Playbook no problems. Thanks for being patient with my techie issues, all sorted now :-)

Have a great weekend!
