E-mail

In the e-mail on my Curve, an old e-mail just showed up on the device.

This is an old e-mail from my last Blackberry and I have deleted that account from gmail.

This account was not set up in my Curve and when I go to e-mail set up, it is not there so I cannot delete it.

How do I delete this e-mail from my device?

Thanks in advance for any help..

Re: E-mail

Hello,

I'm not quite clear. Did an old email message appear? Or did an old email account configuration (e.g., another email icon) appear?

Thanks!

Re: E-mail

An old email account configuration (e.g., another email icon) appeared.

It was from gmail and an account I had delated some time ago..

It was not on this Blackberry when I set up my e-mail accounts and then one day, there it was.

I have no idea.

The Curve has  new media card so nothing like that wold have been stored and this is a new Curve.

This particular account was on my old Storm which I no longer use.

Thank you for your response.

Re: E-mail

It sounds as if perhaps your carrier did something with your BIS account, perhaps re-establishing that old configuration and migrating it to your new BB. I suggest you log into your BIS account from a PC/browser (http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Where_can_I_log_into_my_BIS_account%3F) and check your configuration items there. If that account is 100% not showing in BIS, then go, on your BB, to:

  • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Service Book

and delete each line item in that list that is associated with that rogue email account configuration. Then perform the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB):

1) Register HRT

  • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > blackberry_logo.jpg (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now

2) Resend Service Books

  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service

3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your carrier for formal assistance.

Good luck!
