Email Retention

[ Edited ]

I am new to this forum. I have a question concerning "POP/SMTP" emails. If I am working on emails via Microsoft Exchange or at my outlook on the PC, does my Blackberry work hand in hand and store/retain "sent" or "deleted" items in the folder "on the cell phone itself". Even when I am only working on the PC? Thank you

Re: Email Retention

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

All reconciliation is governed by this KB:

  • KB05133 Email reconciliation features for the BlackBerry Internet Service

Further, all reconciliation is between the BB and your email server...not any client that may be running on the PC (e.g., Outlook)...for client reconciliation, you need to check the capabilities of the client (e.g., Outlook) with your specific server. Typically for POP/SMTP, reconciliation capabilities are very limited, and I don't think Outlook can reconcile at all with changes made directly on the POP server (e.g., from the BB, via BIS).

Good luck!
