My email doesn't download unless I turn the BB off, turn it back on, and then allow it to download. Or it will download to a certain point, and then stop. Hours pass and nothing new arrives (and I confirm that there are new emails to download).

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 2 and 3each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register with VZW
2) Register HRT
3) Delete and Resend Service Books
4) Batt Pull Reboot
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS configuration for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
