Email setup shows 'update failed'

I have bold 9790. And when I open my email setup and when I entered my password it always show ' update failed ' pls solve this

Is "update failed" the exact and complete content of the error message? Often, there is more...and that "more" is usually much more useful to correctly diagnosing the situation.
