Email won't scroll from message to message after updating

After updating to the most recent OS on my Torch 9810, I am now unable to scroll from message to message in my email.  I have to hit the back button and open anew.  It is behaving (only in email) as my Curve (which doesn't have a touch screen) does.


Is there a problem with the touch screen for email in the new release?  Is there a way to fix by changing the sensitivity?  Or the "hover" (whatever that means)?


I have not identified any touch screen issues in any other application and can scroll in things like calendar and on my main screen by just flicking my thumb.
