Emails getting deleted from the handheld

Hi All, i have recently encountered a problem. I have my office email (exchange server is setup) integrated with blackberry. Now i receive email at 2 places, my outlook client as well as my phone. The issue is that after some time my emails from the phone get deleted while they are still present on the outlook client. Now my outlook client is configured to download the files on local drive and keep them in a pst file

Wireless reconcilation is set to on and the keep message setting is 30 days with 16 MB free space (on the phone).

What i gathered is that once the emails are download on my outlook client they are deleted from the exchange server and thus when the phone reconciles, then it deletes emails from itself as they are no longer available on the server. Could it be the issue or is there anything else wrong.

Can any one help please.

Thanks and Regards.

Re: Emails getting deleted from the handheld

Hi there!

You didn't quite say, so I'll have to guess -- you are NOT on BES, correct? If you are on BES, then you need to go see your BES admins as they are in control.

What I think you've done is configure BIS to handle your work email via your work internet-facing OWA. Correct? If so, and you also have a separate client downloading emails from the server and deleting them from the server when it downloads, then that indeed would effect a deletion from the BB if you have it configured for OTA deleted items sync.

See this KB along with what else it refers to:
