Error - There are too many redirections for this web address

This message keeps popping up when I try and open youtube. I've tried everything I can think of, but to no success. Can anyone help?

Hello,

Are you using the full or the mobile YouTube site? If you are using the full, then try the mobile site.

Good luck!

Re: Error - There are too many redirections for this web address

Thanks for the reply. I am using the mobile site, which is already installed as an app on the Torch 9800. I don't think I can access the full site via my Torch. Getting really annoying now, I use YouTube on a regular basis. I would have expected better from BlackBerry. I REALLY don't understand why its done this

Re: Error - There are too many redirections for this web address

Interesting...when I go to m.youtube.com, it loads just fine, with no popup messages that you see. Interesting...let's see...let's try some basic things.

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network

2) Delete and Resend Service Books

  • KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service

3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Let's see if that helps as it is designed to reset all of your services and repair any corruption in the Service Books and such.

Good luck and let us know!

Hi, and again, thanks for the quick reply. I have tried the 3 steps and followed the instructions in that particular order. However, the problem still remains. Words cannot describe my frustration!!

OK...second guess...is your BB now, or has it ever been, part of a BES domain?

Re: Error - There are too many redirections for this web address

OK, so let's recap, just to be 100% certain:

1) You are using some add-on app to access YouTube.

2) You are not using the YouTube mobile site from your BB Browser

3) When you use this add-on app, it presents the error messages that are reflected in the subject line of this thread.

If that's correct, then I apologize for not seeing it sooner...but it's the developer of that add-on app that you need to seek support from. If you were using the true mobile YouTube site from the BB Browser, then the steps I provided above should work (they might help with an add-on app, but they can't do anything about a problem with the app itself).

Also, if this is the case, please state exactly what that add-on app is, including version information and the place from which you obtained it.

Thanks!

I found deleting your browsing history works 100 % every time. Youtube working fine after that.
