Re: Error message 140in.\Error.cpp.

What else do you need? error log?

I did not do multiple power downs when I deleted and re-installed the desktop and phone software.

I did follow the stepes and did not allow the software to startup upon installation.

This is what I installed:

9930AMEA_PBr7.1.0_rel921_PL5.1.0.230_A7.1.0.267_Sprint_L.P.exe

700_b060_multilanguage.exe

I could not find an older version of the desktop software.

I looked all over RIM's site and this is all I could find.

Basically, ALL of the steps you attempted, step by step, of exactly what you did and exactly what happened with each step. If you tried variations, then those as well. What I suspect is that, at one of the steps, you skipped something or accidentally did something out of order, or something else...and the details will help me to see that.

I have yet to figure out a way to interpret those...

OK...well then that's one thing you skipped in what I recommended...

Ummm...in that order? If so, that's the wrong order, according to the instructions...

That is the most recent Desktop Software, as well as your carriers most recent OS package for your BB. If you further purchased your BB from Sprint, then skipping the steps to delete VENDOR.XML is acceptable.

Then you did not fully read post #2 above...nor the full thread that contains the clean start over instructions...

Re: Error message 140in.\Error.cpp.

ok. I will try again and be a little more detailed in what I do. I will read the directions again and include multiple power downs. I believe I installed the software in the correct order. I will re-do and see what happens.

Thanks for listening. I'll be back tomorrow.

Re: Error message 140in.\Error.cpp.

Cool...what I recommend you do is copy the instructions into a Word Doc or something, and be editing that while you perform the steps...then you can type in your specific results at each step and afterwards paste that into a post here (please use color coding or something to help me quickly identify what is original content and what are your reports from the process). Alternatively, you can be writing a post here while you conduct the process...but that get's tricky with the power down reboots required.

Good luck and we'll chat again tomorrow!!
