Error when trying to open audio file

I've installed an application from bb appl world, it contains audio files which to listen to. When I try to open the audio file it gives me the following error: IOException: java.io.IOException: HTTP response code: 302

Any suggestions?

Re: Error when trying to open audio file

Hi and welcome to the forums!

The attached article presents a similar error caused by:

"The file name of the content attempting to be downloaded by the Chalk Pushcast Player contains characters that cannot be included in a URL or the URL is too long.

Verify that the file names used with the content do not contain any illegal URL characters (i.e. \, /, :, *, ?, ", <, >, |, spaces, #) or are longer than 250 characters."

Can you tell me which app? I'll help you test it.

Thanks,

Re: Error when trying to open audio file

I'd appreciate if u could check it out for me. The application is 'sermons' on bb appl world. (Sermonaudio.com). I have no idea what format these files are!

Hi,

I'm looking for it now. Give me about 30 min to test. OK?

Thanks,

EDIT: bonaqua I have loaded the app, and have yet to see your error message. Do you use the Blackberry media player or the external player.

Example: I'm in newest sermons and I highlight (not click) a sermon. No press the menu key and you will have an option for "use external player."

Have you tried both? I'll keep testing please post if you get the error and specify the name of the sermon, OK?

Thanks,

Re: Error when trying to open audio file

Hi bonaqua!

I'm going to remove the SermonsAudio.com app tonight. I did not find any files that were not supported by Blackberry. The attached link shows the Blackberry supported media file types and formats.

Thanks,

Re: Error when trying to open audio file

Hi!

It works with external player but not with media player. Why is that then?

The external player setting was 'off'.

Thank you so much!!!

Re: Error when trying to open audio file

Hi bonaqua,

The difference is their "external player" doesn't exist!

When you use the external player option the sermon is sent via streaming data broadcast to your device. Please make sure that you have an unlimited data plan or use Wi-Fi whenever possible.

Thanks for resolving the thread so others can find your answer faster.
