I did the reinstall and my Torch works now smoother and faster but ... facebook and Opera mini still the same, no Facebook and Opera don't work.
A while ago I purchased CIA World factbook 2012 fromS4BB. The app. Worked but the text and pictures didn't format to the width of the screen. S4BB was very helpful in trying to solve the problem but is never been able to.
These things worries me about BlackBerry, that such problems can not be solved. That there is not an application available at RIM to reset or clean up without altering your applications installed, I don't understand. Something like a registry cleaner or something. Of course I am not even sure it is possible to create such an application but would love to have one.

Can you try installing facebook using the desktop manager?
You can get the latest version of the desktop manager from that link too.

Okay... Its working now! Can you please find a similar magic trick to make my Opera mini work? Because that one is still the same.
I have an other funny thing happening al the time. Each time that I start the BlackBerry Desktop Software, it tells me that I need to do a BlackBerry 6.0.0 core Applications upgrade. Maybe its a problem with my computer which is very old.

Interesting. Does the screen shot look like this? See the bottom picture.
If so, this update is for the software on the phone. Are you able to upgrade it?
I also found this thread with some steps:
For opera mini, try using the desktop manager to install it:

opera mini: Are you using any custom themes on your device?

Yes I do. I'm using BlackBerry Live Wallpapers from Bernie Lee Designs of which I own several and change them now and then.
Here is what I did. I immediately switched back to the original BB wallpaper, did then a battery pull with a safe mode reboot. I then uninstalled Opera. Did a 30 sec battery pull and then reinstalled Opera using the desktop manager.
Same result Opera installs but gives the same error

Gotcha. I am stumped on this one so far.
Have you reported this using the bug wizard?
the only other think I can suggest is a complete wipe of the phone using bbsak. I know you said you did a software reload earlier, but that was probably an upgrade vs completely starting from scratch.
how to use bbsak:
