I've had this a few times now.. on both my BB 9000 and 9780
when I go to 'share' and try to upload a photo from an album, it does upload but then it 'freezes' the pictures application so it forces to me hold down the blackberry menu button to access another app. I cannot exit the pictures and therefore cannot access the facebook application, meaning I have to perform a hard reset... Instead ive been emailing the picture instead but then you can't tag friends so this is a bit annoying.
Is this just a bug?

I'm having the same problem on my 8530. When I upload a picture to FB from the phone, the messaging, as well as the email aps "freeze". I eventually get an "uncaught exception error" display. I have to pull the battery to reset the phone. This has been going on since I updated to 126.96.36.199. Anyone know what's going on???

I'm getting the same with my BB Curve 3G 9300, I called my network provider first thinking it was phone fault they directed me to RIM who then told me I must pay $49 to get an answer like sum dodgy fortune teller. Called network provider back and got different person telling me it sounded like facebook. I cant access SMS/emails/Facebook/twitter or internet browser and need to remove battery every time I upload picture. I wish I could go back to previous version as everything worked on that.

even on my Blackberry 9780 I have now started having this error.
I upload the pic via the Facebook app and then it freezes.. but this time it came up with an "app error 306"(or some number similar to that) and a white screen.. forcing me to click 'reset' and re-boot my Blackberry.

I defo think there is a bug with this update as all was well with uploading before the update (which btw my phone had automatically done in my sleep)
Today I went to the mobile facebook site instead of the application and uploaded the picture there following the instructions and my phone has not frozen at all. So for the time being looks like I cannot upload via photo folder or facebook application as these are linked to the app and the glitch is causing phone to freeze. So I have found my temp measure to do me in the meantime when I am out and about or at a festival.
Still no happy that the app is not fully living up to it's expectations tho but I'm happy I have found a way to upload with no problems.

Same problem here with my 9100 Pearl... in fact I went back to the store and swapped my phone for a brand new one yesterday and it didnt' change a thing.
PLEASE update this app RIM... I have kids, I upload all day long and my thumb nail is bleeding from lifting the back cover off!

try uploading through mobile.facebook.com (ithink thats it or just type facebook.com in your device browser) and go to upload picture, after that there will be a screen that has the button to browse for picture, after choosing the pic you want to upload you just press upload and it's easily done and uploaded. As per my above post I tried and tested this method instead and it works miles better than the app with no freezing and no need to remove the battery cover again until they get their finger out and give us a proper version update that fixes the app.
I'm getting the impression that we aint the only ones with this problem. I have still kept the app on my phone so that I can get notifications and update status and comments but for now the mobile facebook site is the best way to upload and means you can still upload on the move without the worry of destroying the battery/phone by constantly rebooting.
Hope this helps for you guys as it did for me

I have the same problem with my Tour 9630. I was able to go back to the old version, 1.8 until they can fix it. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like they care to fix the bug! Pretty crappy of Blackberry if you ask me!
