I recently purchased a "secondhand" Storm 9500 on an online auction. The seller was located in china.
The phone arrived promptly but these were a few things that I noticed were strange.
The box is made of corrugated cardboard and not the usual single layer hard black cardboard used normally.
The battery does not have two serial numbers on the back, only one... not the longer one that states RSB and also the printed label does not seem the same, the copper in the connector is dull not shiny and the moulding does not match up in size to another battery i have...
The chargers cable, although branded blackberry looks and feels.... cheaper than usual.
The phone itsself is a genuine BB. Works on bis and everything and still has all the plastic covers on it so i assume the housing has been changed. But now... I have a question... How to check to see if the LCD unit is a cheap counterfeit and what do i do about this guy selling what seems to be a mix of refurbished and counterfeit products as secondhand goods?

Any reseller could have placed a new (non-OEM battery and USB cable in the box). Nothing wrong with that, as long as you don't care, after all you are buying from some one line auction from China, right?

Don't buy from that seller. That solves your problem. Otherwise, there's really nothing you can do.
