Please provide us the exact steps you are following and exactly where in those steps that this message presents...along with the precise syntax of the message. For example, are you doing an on-device update? Are you using a MAC and the MAC desktop software? Are you using a PC and the PC Desktop Software? Are you using LOADER.EXE? BBSAK? The update website? You see...there are multiple methods, so help us to help you by telling us the exact method and steps you are following.

Hi, I had exactly the same error trying to update my 9700 to 6.0. This was using the Desktop Manager.
I then used the on-line link below to update using the updater and specific instructions for my carrier - it then worked OK. (In fact I mistakenly used O2 rather than Vodafone UK, but it worked fine).

Thank you. with much trepidation I downloaded the software. I wound up having to update the Desk top manager and then the OS update. And now I have to get used to all the new stuff on it and the Blackberry. I wouldn't say I was the most knowledgable of users so this was a great leap for me.
