Freezing

I have had my torch for a while but lately it freezes in the middle of a text or when I try to back out of something.  How can I fix this problem.

Re: Freezing

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Best!

Re: Freezing

I have tried the hard reboot but that did not seem to work. Im still having trouble with the torch freezing during texting or when I back out of emails or texting.

Re: Freezing

Well, if a reboot does not clear it at least temporarily, then it's likely that there are too many apps installed, some app has a memory leak, the OS has become corrupted, some new app is causing it, or some combination of those. If it is new behavior, then try undoing whatever was done just before the behavior started. You also should search to see if there is an updated OS available. You also should check your File Free to be sure that it is a) not too low and b) relatively stable over time. You also should be sure that you are properly closing apps when you are done with them...apps left running will continue to consume resources.

Good luck!

Re: Freezing

You might want to check the available memory. Options --> Device --> Application Management --> Application Storage. Did you start experiencing this prolem after installing any app that is running continuously in background (screen saver, theme, etc)?
