Frozen track ball

Hi, wonder if anyone can help, I have a 2 month old Blackberry Bold 9700.  Today my  track ball will not go to the right. it goes up and down and to the left but not to the right.  And I cannot open my e-mail contacts or calendar?

Have you attempted a Hard Reset: Remove the battery wait 5 minutes before replacing the battery back in your Smartphone?

 

You might want to also try updating the Device Software, this would be in addition to the BlackBerry Desktop Software. You can download this by visiting BlackBerry.com and look for Device software for your model.

Thank for your help, I did try a hard reset with my battery.  I did a backup yesterday I have not updated my device software yet.  That is the next thing to try.
