Hey guys, I've just been reading through this thread to see what the kik's status was on the BB as I want to communicate with my brother who resides in Spain.
I was a former BB owner and loved the BB msg service. My brother still owns a BB, but since I moved over to Windows Phone, we've been struggling to find a decent cross-platform msg to link up on. As it stands, I'm connected with ALL of my other friends who own iPhones/Androids... it's just frustrating BB are being awkward and shortsighted by removing kik from their service.
Having owned a iTouch alongside my BB, I wouldn't recommend moving over to Apple. Honestly, they're the most overracted products on the market, at present, and I despise the way Apple is so locked down, forcing you to buy everything Apple in order for your devices to work.
If you want my advice (and this is what I'll be telling my bro), wait until this autumn and pick up a Windows Phone with the latest Mango update. It's interface is leaps and bounds ahead of Apple's gimmicky iPhone... and the best part is, it's a fraction of the cost. Anyhoe, in the meantime, I hope BB reinstates kik. It certain needs to if it wants to retain it's customers.
