Another update...

RIM was not able to resolve the issue. In fact, this is a new issue brought forward. Because it's a multi-user issue, it will be escalated and given priority. Unfortunately it takes time because they have to pass it over to the development team and usually a resolution occurs with the next software update. The agent did not know when that will be but at least now they are aware of it and are working on a fix.

Thanks to everyone who offered advise. I think this is a case now of wait and see unfortunately.

synthetic-darkness, some small info here.
I've spoken to three fiends on the 9900.
Results are all can stream youtube both from the app and from the m.youtube.com mobile site.
One on ATT 9900/7.1.0.794
One on Rogers 9900/7.1.0.746
One on Rogers 9900/7.1.0.807 (leaked unofficial)

Can I ask if you are on 3g or H+ data?

I'm with Rogers and running Rogers 9900/7.1.0.746. But just discovered that I can stream through Wifi which is through Bell. The thing that needs to be tested is to select a video that is longer that 2 min in length and let it run. The issue is the vid launches but stops with error msg at precisely 1:19

Thanks Wolf! I actually thought about asking RIM if they needed an addition to the team Smiley Happy I've been communicating with their highest level of support. They are stumped about the bug and really working to try and resolve it. What they are trying to determine is if its a network issue. I'm curious to know if Synthentic's carrier is also Rogers? I've messaged him but no response. RIM wants to know this info as well.

Sorry, I digress.

About helping others, I doubt I can. Not that skilled to do so. I really just wanted to be able to use all of my phones functionality and get this issue solved.

I have H+ network on my bold 9900. My signal is -77dBm My phone was out of commision yes I am with rogers network.

Any chance you have a security timeout to lock set on your device?

At this point it might be a Network issue. RIM told me they have received a few incident reports all from consumers whose carriers are Rogers. I can stream fine using Wifi (through Bell).

I bet Rogers will offer you credits if you ask. If its a network issue, you've earned it.
